"Groundwater Movement", a mixed media painting measuring 12 x 16 inches, is a captivating journey through layers of artistic exploration. Spanning at least eight years, the work unfolds like a captivating narrative, each addition enriching the visual tapestry.

The foundation lies in an intriguing, albeit obscured, depiction of a machine replicating human forms. Traces of movement and fragmented body segments whisper of the original composition, preserved beneath subsequent layers. Found objects, childhood pins, and an intriguingly placed polaroid of a fluorescent ceiling fixture add textured depth, their intentional placement hinting at the unseen narrative below.

Crafted between 2006 and 2014, the piece transcends a singular moment, evolving organically over time. The final flourish arrives in the form of poured ink, echoing the sap of a separate work ("Revelations: Enchanted and Arboreal"). When presented in a diptych, "Groundwater Movement" invites the viewer into a stimulating dialogue. The challenge lies in piecing together the pervasiveness of the past, deciphering the original form from the dynamic present. This captivating interplay between past and present, obscured and revealed, is what makes "Groundwater Movement" a truly compelling artistic experience.
